
Richmond Is Still Rebuilding. What Football Is No Longer Acceptable in 2027?

Richmond will still lose games in 2027. Youth, injuries and inexperience will still matter. The harder question is whether there is now a minimum standard the Tigers are no longer allowed to fall below, regardless of the scoreboard.
That makes the next stage of the rebuild about more than wins and margins. When Richmond is being beaten, what should still remain recognisable? How much pressure, structure, turnover protection and on-field problem-solving should survive a bad quarter before the explanation stops being simply that this is a young side?
So where is the line now? What should Richmond’s worst football look like in 2027, and what would tell Tiger supporters that the rebuild’s floor has genuinely moved rather than the calendar simply changing?
