Richmond can rehearse cleaner ball movement all summer. AFL opponents will spend the same summer learning how to remove the Tigers’ preferred option.

That creates the real test of an attacking system. When the corridor closes, the intended runner is covered or the first forward pattern disappears, does Richmond still know where the next useful possession is?

The question for 2027 is not whether Richmond has a first plan. It is whether the football survives when an opponent recognises it.
