What Did Richmond Have to Solve When Not One Tiger Had Played a Final?
Richmond entered the 1967 second semi-final carrying one of the strangest contradictions in the club’s history. The Tigers had finished on top of the ladder, but not one player had experienced a VFL final.
Twenty years had passed since Richmond’s previous September appearance. Carlton and Geelong had players who understood how finals changed the pace, the crowd and the consequences of every mistake. Richmond had to learn without the usual apprenticeship.
