The full RTSSG member feature, 🐯 TIGER TRAGICIAN | JACOB HOPPER: THE 2026 LAUNCHPAD 🐯, begins with the evidence. RTSSG Public stops before the solve.

Jacob Hopper’s first two Richmond seasons were repeatedly interrupted after his move from Greater Western Sydney. Entering 2026, the discussion had changed because 2025 had finally provided a much larger run of football and a more stable physical base.

Preseason images and reports suggested a leaner Hopper, but the club already knew what he looked like in January. The unresolved part was what another uninterrupted season might allow him to do once games began.

The question

Was 2025 best read as a comeback, a baseline, or the start of something Richmond still had not seen?

Would a lighter frame materially change how Hopper could influence Richmond’s midfield, or was that an easy preseason story to overread?

What did Richmond need from him that disposal volume alone could not answer?

How would his role change as younger midfielders demanded more responsibility?

And what would make 2026 evidence of a player moving forward rather than simply staying available?

Those are the questions. Read the full member feature here.
