Did You Know? A Former Richmond Secretary Helped Take Checker Hughes to Melbourne
Percy Page’s Richmond story did not end when he left the secretaryship. After moving into Melbourne’s administration, he helped persuade Richmond’s 1932 premiership coach Checker Hughes to cross clubs.
Melbourne would later credit the Page–Hughes partnership with helping reshape the club, while Hughes went on to coach four Melbourne premierships.
