By the middle of 1967, John Ronaldson looked a long way from becoming part of Richmond premiership folklore. He had played the first five senior games, then disappeared from the VFL side while the Tigers kept winning.


Richmond had options everywhere. Royce Hart was emerging, John Northey was kicking goals and the side had settled into the season without Ronaldson. Then September created a problem nobody had planned for.
