RTSSG is going Wheelie Big!!!

It’s a great pleasure to introduce the Richmond wheelchair football team to the RTSSG. We are in the early rounds of the third season of the Victorian Wheelchair Football League. The inaugural season of 2018 Richmond lost to Collingwood in the grand final. And then in 2019 we reversed the result against the Pies, to salute by 14 points. This year RTSSG is thrilled to have access to the Richmond Wheelchair Captain Chris Henderson, who is going to provide pre-game updates and also match reports throughout the season. Chris is also keen to introduce the Richmond faithful to the fast and frenetic sport of wheelchair football and also take you inside the inner sanctum to let you meet the great bunch of men and women who wear the yellow and black proudly every game. Chris was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis back in Oct 17 (actually the first day he felt something wrong was the Sunday after the Tigers 2017  premiership. ) It was a tough 18 months as he started treatment and started to understand what his new normal look liked. He is well placed to educate us all about this reasonably new sport. In his first year Chris won the Richmond best and fairest as well as the league best and fairest by one vote. He made the big V side and by scoring 5 goals in the grand final also won the Robert Rose medal for the Best on court in the grand final. So he is absolutely well placed to get everyone across this new and exciting sport. So, we will be attending games, educating and informing you of all things VWFL, so get involved!!!
